Zira was a female chimpanzee from the films Planet of the Apes, Beneath the Planet of the Apes and Escape from the Planet of the Apes as well as the original novel, La Planète des singes by Pierre Boulle. She was the fiancée (later spouse) of Cornelius and the eventual mother of Milo, who would grow up to take the name Caesar. The character was portrayed by Kim Hunter.
