Valentina was the orangutan daughter of Dr. Zaius and Siena, and the husband of Vitus. Although the pregnant Valentina challenged her mother's prejudice against chimpanzees, when faced with dire circumstances she proved herself full of hatred for humans. Valentina escaped drowning in the aftermath of the Moon's destruction, but soon died giving birth, her child surviving and presumably being the granddaughter that Zaius mentioned to Taylor eight years later.
Notes
- Valentina is exclusive to the continuity of the Planet of the Apes comic books published by BOOM! Studios.
- In the 2011 novel Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes, set during the events of Planet of the Apes, Zaius' late wife was named Ambrosine and their grown-up children lived far away from Ape City.
