Not too long ago there was a blog post about Andy Serkis becoming Caesar in the new Rise of the Planet of the Apes film, and now that many of you have seen the film, the reviews of his performance have been overwhelmingly positive. Andy Serkis has always done amazing motion capture work (Gollum, King Kong), but his role as Caesar in this summer's blockbuster has been unanimously praised.

His performance was so inspiring that fans have started a campaign to get him an Oscar nomination. Check out the OscarForAndy Twitter page and the Oscar4Andy Facebook group to add your support. Many of the fans have declared his portrayal of Caesar the ape as his best work, but one cannot deny that Serkis deserves an award, at the very least, for his combined works in Lord of the Rings, King Kong, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. There is no doubt that Serkis is the best motion capture actor of all time, which may not be much now, but in years to come, motion capture actors will strive to move like the godfather of the art.
