She was a Mutant and a former member of the House of Mendez cult, who had been excommunicated, punished by having a mask secured with a lock placed on her and exiled to the Forbidden Zone. She traveled a long distance until she arrived at the Statue of Liberty, which Amy nicknamed the lighthouse. The mutant layed down on the rocky structure surrounding the place where Amy would later find her while cleaning the surface of her home. Amy initially thought about using her scalpel against the mutant but quickly dismissed the idea, deciding instead to remove her mask. Although Amy seemed scared at first, she soon began caring for the mutant.
Although the mutant reminded her of how she used to care for her daughter Helena, Amy couldn’t bring herself to let her into her home. At dawn, the sounds of the mutant pleading woke Amy, and although she considered the implications of what might have happened if she had allowed the mutant into her life, it didn’t change her mind. Tired of begging, the mutant built a makeshift raft and ventured out into the ocean while Amy watched her leave just before her husband Thomas arrived.
