Thomas Gomez (10 July, 1905 - 18 June, 1971) was an American actor who played the role of The Minister in the 1970 film, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, one of his last appearances. Gomez became very claustrophobic during filming and had to have the side of his ape mask cut open to alleviate his fears.[1]
