Hello,
Oddly enough, the "service" is a remnant of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer of the Episcopal Church of the USA, including the hymn "All Things Bright and Beautiful".
It wouldn't be too surprising to learn the film's creators went to the Episcopal Church for the basis of the service. The Roman Catholic Church in America was just coming off the Latin Rite as the Vatican II council was coming to a close, so most of the Catholic missals were still in Latin.
Is this cathedral ever stated to be St. Patrick's, or could it be St. John the Divines? 70.17.42.136 01:25, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

It's definitely St. Patrick's--Brent sees a street sign outside the cathedral, that reads "5th. Avenue" and "51st Street." That's where St. Patrick's is located in NYC.69.122.210.59 15:22, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
