Robert Hamner (7 July, 1928 – 25 April, 1996) was a screenwriter active in television from the early 1960s. He either wrote for or produced (or sometimes both) about thirty five different television series, including Hawaiian Eye, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, A Man Called Shenandoah, Star Trek, The Time Tunnel, Run for Your Life, Lost in Space, Ironside, Hawaii Five-O, Planet of the Apes (episode "The Legacy") and Wonder Woman. He is best known as the creator of the police procedural show S.W.A.T. He continued to work until shortly before his death.
