Rita

Rita was the first wife of Malcolm, and the biological mother of Alexander. She was also one of the many victims of the Simian Flu.

Marriage and Death[]

Prior to the Simian Flu Pandemic, Rita was married to Malcolm and conceived a son with him who they named Alexander. However, she died during the pandemic and was survived by her son and husband, the latter of who eventually married a former CDC nurse named Ellie.

Legacy[]

It was made clear that she was loved by her son, and her death greatly impacted Malcolm and Alexander, and the latter was unwilling to accept Ellie into his life initially until she revealed the pain that caused the loss of her own daughter, Sarah.
