The Orderly attending the Apes at the military detention center 'Camp Eleven' inadvertently insulted Zira's unborn baby, by calling him a "little monkey", prompting a furious Cornelius to throw the hot soup and the glass water jug he was holding into his face, accidentally causing his death. This, and their subsequent escape, prompted a hunt that led to their deaths. The severity of this caused Zira to later reflect that Cornelius had set terrible events in motion. Cornelius, who now had some remorse for what he had done, remarked that "the boy meant no harm" in his remark.
