Michael G. (Mike) Ploog is a comic book artist who contributed material to the Planet of the Apes Magazine for Marvel Comics. Ploog illustrated the main original story to appear in the magazine - Terror on the Planet of the Apes - for it's first fourteen chapters, spread through ten issues. One of Ploog's best friends, Mentor Huebner, was a storyboard artists on the original Planet of the Apes movie, and had given him a lot of the old storyboards prior to his being asked to work on the Marvel magazine.[1] The two later worked together as storyboard artists on John Carpenter's The Thing (1982).
