Michael Giacchino is an Oscar-winning film composer who replaced Patrick Doyle in scoring the soundtrack of Matt Reeves' 2014 film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Giacchino is a frequent collaborator of Matt Reeves' good friend J.J. Abrams, having worked with him on the long running television series Lost and his two Star Trek movies, Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013).
