Sister Martha was a prominent leader of Brother Kale's cult, itself having split from a larger bomb-worshipping human cult. Martha undertook many missions on behalf of Kale to make contact with the human rebels outside Mak, and was able to communicate telepathically with both Kale and Julian. At the death of Kale and the conquest of Mak by the Great Khan, Martha and the other cult members were able to conceal themselves long enough to position a nuclear bomb and destroy the Khan, themselves and the entire city
