Little Caesar was the backup story featured in MR Comics' Revolution on the Planet of the Apes #3. It was written by Ty Templeton, with art by Salgood Sam, and gave some background to the events of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. It originally appeared as a preview in issue #1 of MR Comics' Big Max, under the title Armando’s Marvelous Menagerie Circus.[1]

Synopsis[]

Armando discovered that his animals, somehow in tune with Caesar's mind, bent easily to his will. Whenever Caesar dreamed of them doing tricks and routines, they were able to do them a few days later, without any actual training. Caesar found his abilities frightening, but Armando reassured him it was a gift from God. Caesar's fellow performers included Pierre the Mute Mountain (a deaf-mute “strong man”), the Soaring Simians (chimpanzee acrobats with Caesar in the lead) and an elephant named Sheba. One night, Paula Dean from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) attended the show, accusing Armando of mistreating the animals to get them to perform such amazing feats. Smiling, he assured her his methods were both humane and miraculous. As soon as she left, Armando told his employees to pull up stakes so they could be gone by dawn, as that would be easier to explan than Caesar's approach to animal-training. Still, Caesar worried, for his dreams of late had shown horrors from the future - explosions, bombs, wars, scar-faced men with masks, gorillas hunting humans on horseback and more. Armando dismissed his worries, insisting that not every dream Caesar had would come true. To their astonishment, the deaf-mute Pierre responded that they all would.
