Kumang was an evolved female orangutan who raised Oak in the San Francisco Zoo.
History[]
Kumang was an orangutan in the San Francisco Zoo. When an orphaned baby gorilla named Oak was brought to the Zoo, Kumang raised him as her own son.
When the Ape Rebellion took place in 2011, the Gorilla Buck freed the apes from the Zoo. Kumang and Oak fled the city with the other apes through the Golden Gate Bridge, and into Muir Woods. When the humans came to the forest to kill the apes, Kumang carried Oak on her back as she swung through the trees to escape the humans during the forest fire caused by the chaos.
Kumang and Oak were soon finally able to settle down with the new ape colony founded by Caesar in the Mountains. Oak would soon grow up, and eventually became a member of the Gorilla Guard.

- Its unknown where Kumang was during the Human-Ape war. Its possible she died of old age prior to the war.
