Biography[]

War for the Planet of the Apes[]

John was the son of Colonel J. Wesley McCullough, the commanding officer of Alpha-Omega, a paramilitary faction that broke off from the United States Army. As the Human-Ape War progressed, he was a soldier of various recon units dispatched to search for Caesar's location. However, when the Simian Flu began to evolve, John was a carrier of the new strain and a result, became mute and lost his higher intelligence. John's NCOs assumed this was a result of being too traumatized by war but after his caretaker became mute as well, their medic theorized that the flu devolved those who carried it. As a result, his father was forced to kill him by shooting him in the head.

McCullough was the father of John and truly loved his son, keeping a picture of him long after his son's death. John loved and trusted his father, and looked up into his father’s eyes just moments before his execution, and J. Wesley McCullough described the look in his eyes as “love and trust was in his now-primal eyes”.
