According to legend, Hanuman The Wise was a founder of ape society. He led the three ape species through the wilderness for a year, a month, a week, and a day, far from mankind. He divided his followers into nine tribes and scattered them over the land. One tribe was led by his son, Pharo, an orangutan. Pharo built the apes 'First City' and took a gorilla wife. Many more hybrid apes were born, but they became insane and these 'Chimerae' were left to live in the city, isolated from other apes by thick jungle.
