Monkey
A monkey is a member of the Simian superfamily, but is characteristically distinguishable from Apes. The term can also be used as a pejorative used to describe an evolved ape, but it is often perceived as an insult, and is known to invoke the ire of several ape species (particularly gorillas). Aged gorilla soldier, Krull, took noticeable offense when Captain Leo Davidson referred to him as a "monkey".

POTA
POTA is an acronym, which stands for Planet of the Apes. The term is used strictly in an out-of-universe context and can be applied to nearly any aspect of the Planet of the Apes franchise. POTA can also be used to refer to the President of the Assembly - the highest ranking ape official seen in Planet of the Apes.

In 3978, gorilla military leader General Ursus addressed the Ape National Assembly, passionately urging them to invade the Forbidden Zone. Ursus' ambitious rhetoric has become informally known as the Ursus Speech.
