Gil Kane was one of the many aliases of Eli Katz, he was a comic book illustrator who provided cover artwork for the Marvel Comics Adventures on the Planet of the Apes comics. Kane was one of the firts artists of the Silver Age of comic books that were fans before they started working in the industry. He is responsible for various concepts pertaining to DC´s Green Lantern mythos and co-created The Atom. He later worked for Marvel, ilustrating the 3 issue arc with Harry Osborn falling on the goblin formula, which served as a critique of drug abuse in The Amazing Spider-Man issue # 96–98, while working for Marvel he also co-created Iron Fist.
