George 'Gabby' Sasaki was an actor who appeared as a chimpanzee in the early costume tests for Planet of the Apes. He was photographed and filmed, along with examples of gorilla and orangutan make-up and costumes, on April 12, 1967. He may also have been the model in John Chambers' earliest make-up tests.
