Doolan was one of the leaders, under General Mattias, of the human army of Delphi which attempted to assert human independence. When Delphi was conquered by a combined force from the ape city states, Doolan led the remnants of the Delphi army into hiding. His friend Bako fled to Mak and lived there for many years. After the humans were expelled from Mak, Bako reunited with Doolan, who offered to protect the refugees. They planned an attack on Mak during which Bako was killed, but Doolan continued to fight alongside human leader Sullivan for many years until Mak was ultimately destroyed in a final battle.
