Chimpanzee Soldier

The Red Ape was one of the ape army or possibly had the job of hunting humans. He was sent to capture the primitive humans of the forest of Ashlar, under the command of Thade and Attar. He was the first ape seen by Leo Davidson after he crashed on the alien planet. In the final battle, he is killed by Gunnar.
