Area 51 is a highly classified U.S. military installation operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) within the Nevada Test and Training Range. Initially established for testing secret military aircraft, it has become infamous for its association with conspiracy theories and UFO lore. The base is situated in southern Nevada, approximately 83 miles (134 kilometers) north-northwest of Las Vegas, within the Groom Lake salt flat.

- When it first appeared in the first issue of Revolution on the Planet of the Apes, the installation was named "Hasslein Air Force Base." It wasn't until the second issue that the base was confirmed to be the real-world military base often called Area 51.
