Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Blue Eyes, the oldest son of Caesar and his wife Cornelia became the first ape to gain this title. For many years, Caesar (the Ape King) had taught his son in many fields in order for him to know more about the colony he will one day rule on his own. Years later, Caesar and Cornelia would be given a new son and prince, Cornelius who would rule the kingdom after his brother in his older years.
War for the Planet of the Apes
After the death of Blue Eyes, Cornelius became the sole heir to Caesar's kingdom after Caesar's death.
Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier
After Khan broke from Caesar's tribe to establish his own his sons, Tola, Bryn and Juno gained the titles, with Tola being his first choice as eldest. Bryn and Oaka's son Kanj would also gain the title and would rule the kingdom after his uncles in his older years. Tola would later give up the title after he became King and Bryn also if he successfully kills Tola in combat or Juno kills him to save Bryn.
