Anvil was a military contractor owned by Polytechnic Solutions, the same company in charge of Gen-Sys Laboratories. Under the command of Truman Philips, Anvil was secretly hired by Polytechnic to capture the apes hiding in the Muir Woods Park. Their goal was to capture the apes to create a vaccine and help preserve the reputation of their company and hide Gen-Sys' role in the virus and pays off local officials like Mayor House and San Francisco Interim Chief of Police Burston to enable the cover-up.[1]
