Albert Salmi was born in New York to Finnish parents. His many acting parts included playing cowboys in numerous TV and movie Westerns. He appeared in Escape from the Planet of the Apes playing the role of E-1. His and his wife's deaths in 1990 were reportedly a murder-suicide.
