- March 18: BOOM! Studios and IDW publish Issue 4 of Star Trek/Planet of the Apes: The Primate Directive.
- April 5: Soundtrack composer Richard LaSalle passes away. LaSalle composed the score for the Planet of the Apes television series episodes "The Trap" and "The Deception".
- April 8: BOOM! Studios and IDW publish Issue 5 of Star Trek/Planet of the Apes: The Primate Directive.
- April 13: Comic book artist Herb Trimpe passes away. Trimpe was an artist for Marvel Comics' UK Planet of the Apes comic and Planet of the Apes Magazine.
- April 27: Cinematographer Andrew Lesnie passes away. Lesnie filmed the 2011 movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
- December 7: Actor Martin Brooks passes away. Brooks played the roles of Leander and Konag in the Planet of the Apes television series.
