Production Timeline[]
- January 12: Actor John Alderman passes away. Alderman is credited in some sources as having appeared in Escape from the Planet of the Apes playing a Marine Corporal named Bill.
- March 22: Costume designer Morton Haack passes away. Haack created the iconic Ape costumes in Planet of the Apes (1968), and also the costumes of their enemies the mutants in Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970).
- July 14: Actress Sara Canning is born. Canning played Lake in the 2017 movie War for the Planet of the Apes.
- August 28: Actor and director John Huston passes away. Huston played the role of The Lawgiver in Battle for the Planet of the Apes.
- September 22: Actor Tom Felton is born. Felton played the role of Dodge Landon in the 2011 movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
- Japanese TV series Saru no Gundan (Army of the Apes), borrowing heavily from the Planet of the Apes concept, receives a US release as an edited movie re-named Time of the Apes.
