- A Planet of the Apes 1975 Annual appears in the UK, published by Brown Watson.
- January 5: Planet of the Apes television episode "The Cure" first airs in the UK.
- January 12: Planet of the Apes television episode "The Liberator" first airs in the UK.
- January 19: The final Planet of the Apes television episode, "Up Above the World So High", first airs in the UK.
- March 30: Japanese TV series Saru no Gundan (Army of the Apes), borrowing heavily from the Planet of the Apes concept, completes its 26-episode run on TBS TV.
- June 28: Screenwriter and television producer Rod Serling passes away in Rochester, New York. Serling wrote the original screenplay for the 1968 Planet of the Apes movie, as well as a script for episodes one and two of a Planet of the Apes TV series.
- July 20: Actor Judy Greer is born. Greer appeared as Cornelia in the 2014 movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
- August: Marvel Comics' Adventures on the Planet of the Apes #1 (October cover date) is published, reprinting comics from the Marvel Magazines in colour.
- September 6: Return to the Planet of the Apes cartoon TV series debut episode "Flames of Doom" first airs on NBC.
- September 13: Return to the Planet of the Apes episode "Escape from Ape City" first airs on NBC.
- September 20: Return to the Planet of the Apes episode "The Unearthly Prophecy" first airs on NBC.
- September 27: Return to the Planet of the Apes episode "Tunnel of Fear" first airs on NBC.
- September: Adventures on the Planet of the Apes #2 (November cover date) is published.
- October 4: Return to the Planet of the Apes episode "Lagoon of Peril" first airs on NBC

- October 18: Return to the Planet of the Apes episode "River of Flames" first airs on NBC.

- November: Due to low sales Marvel Comics drops the price and size of it's Planet of the Apes Magazine to 75 cents as a monthly publication.
