- January 31: Actor James Franciscus is born in Clayton, Missouri. He will go on to play the role of John Brent in Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
- March 5: Actor James B. Sikking is born in Los Angeles. Sikking appeared in Escape from the Planet of the Apes playing the role of a Control Room Officer.
- March 20: Frank Capra Jr. is born. Capra associate produced Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and Battle for the Planet of the Apes.
- March 24: Actor William Smith is born. Smith played the role of Tolar in the Planet of the Apes television episode "The Gladiators".
- May 1: Actor Russ Marin is born. Marin played the role of Damon in the Planet of the Apes television series episode "The Horse Race".
- August 8: Actor Mark Bailey is born. Bailey featured in the Planet of the Apes television series episode "The Liberator", as a villager.
- November 15: Actress Joanna Barnes is born. Barnes featured in the Planet of the Apes television series episode "Up Above the World So High", as Carsia.
- December 13: Producer Richard D. Zanuck is born. As Head-of-Production at Twentieth Century Fox, Zanuck agreed to make the original Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes. He later produced Tim Burton's 2001 Planet of the Apes movie.
