- January 18: Soundtrack composer Richard LaSalle is born in Louisville, Colorado. LaSalle composed the score for the Planet of the Apes television series episodes "The Trap" and "The Deception".
- January 24: Actor John McLiam is born. McLiam featured in the Planet of the Apes television series episode "Tomorrow's Tide", as Gahto.
- March 8: Actor Edwin Mills is born. Mills featured in the Return to the Planet of the Apes animated television series, voicing the character of Cornelius.
- March 31: Director Ted Post is born in Brooklyn, New York. Post directed the 1970 movie Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
- June 13: Actor Percy Rodrigues is born in Canada. Rodrigues featured in the Planet of the Apes television series episode "The Tyrant", as Aboro.
- July 23: Producer Stan Hough is born. Hough is credited with inspiring Beneath the Planet of the Apes, and produced the Planet of the Apes TV series in 1974.
- October 23: Actor James Daly is born. James will go on to play the role of Doctor Honorious in Planet of the Apes.
- November 26: Alexander 'Xan' Fielding is born. The British writer made the first English translation of French author Pierre Boulle's La Planète des singes - as 'Planet of the Apes' in the US and 'Monkey Planet' in the UK.
- December 10: Actor Hal Baylor is born. Baylor featured in the Planet of the Apes television series episode "The Deception" as Jasko.
