- June 13: Special Effects cinematographer L.B. Abbott is born. Abbott was responsible for the Special Photographic Effects on Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
- December 28: Actor Lew Ayres is born in Minneapolis. Ayres played the role of pacifist orangutan Mandemus in the 1973 movie Battle for the Planet of the Apes.
