I know what you're thinking "In the comic Koba killed Pope." And you'd be right but there was another "Cloud" was his name in a comic The Simian Age Cloud and his brother Rain found a human mostly harmless and when Koba killed him Cloud wanted to tell Caesar Koba killed him and kept Rain from telling. Koba was a hot mess with or without humanity.

It's honestly incredible the amount of lore and backstory that is in this franchise. That being said Rain reminded me of another Rain who, if I am not mistaken, was the pregnant gorilla in War for the Planet of the Apes: Revelations.

But curious, was Cloud also killed by Koba or just the human?

Cloud was the one killed because he tried to prove to Caesar that Koba killed the man Rain tried to tell Caesar too but Koba threatened to kill him if he did

Ah so Koba killed Cloud because Cloud wanted to tell Caesar that Koba killed a harmless human. Koba also threatened to kill Rain because Rain wanted to tell Caesar about what happened as well. Messed up but that's Planet of the Apes.
